Friendship across generations and fields of study
Viadrina sees itself as a bond of friendship: mutual support throughout one's studies, across generations and fields of study. The goal is to equip young men with what they need to develop professionally, take on responsibility, and become people of substance in society.
At the same time, a resilient network is meant to grow that extends beyond Breslau across all of Silesia and carries this idea forward.
A network beyond borders
The large network of the Corps also opens up the chance to visit numerous other university towns in various countries and build your own international network — especially valuable for anyone with career ambitions in the German-speaking world (DACH).
Open to everyone who fits in
„Admission to Corps Viadrina is decided solely on the character of the individual. An applicant's background, nationality, ethnicity, religion or belief, political conviction and sexual orientation play no role in this.”
Corps do not select their members by nationality. Viadrina sees itself as a vehicle for cultivating student tradition and networking — regardless of its members' nationality.
A shared student life, not a sense of mission

It is about a wonderful, shared student life — not political agitation. Politically motivated excesses are therefore not in our interest.
Red-Blue-Gold
All of these values are embodied in our tricoloured ribbon in red, blue and gold, which we wear both within the Corps and to the outside world. Red and gold stand for the colours of Breslau, the narrower blue stripe in the centre for the river Oder.
The blue Oder stripe is framed by two silvery-white edgings, representing the banks of the Oder.
